getting in the way of my thesis...

i) SKINS.

one of my main comforts when abroad last spring. i love the effie generation even more than the first one. obviously the emily/naomi arc is my fave.

ii) UNITED STATES OF TARA

toni collette is so great in this. the music is awesome. the story is beautiful, funny, creative. diablo cody, i want your life.

iii) 30 ROCK

let's see; well, first off, i am liz lemon. also, best guest star selections - oprah, JOHN HAMM. and a whole episode that centered around the plot of harry and the hendersons.

also keeping up on grey's and private practice, though more out of loyalty/habit than anything. although addison's outfits lately have been leaving me with bouts of fashion-lust. her hair is also beyond human, divine. and friday night lights is still on nbc, though i watched it in the fall online from direct tv. subsequently considering moving to austin. after i finish this damn thesis and GRADUATE.

sunday night thoughts

- i heard a rumor that before he died heath ledger directed a music video for modest mouse
- in dc yesterday and reminded of how much i love cherry blossoms against brick buildings
- thismakes me happy/jealous
- i really want to wear thisand drink something with a lime in it and dip my toes in water (get warmer, weather!)

the dickman twins

matthew and michael dickman of portland, or. have each had a few poems published in the new yorker last year and each recently released books from copper canyon press. there's an article about them in the seattle p-i. it says there will be an upcoming piece on them in the new yorker. i heard about them when i fell in love with this poem. they'll be reading at elliott bay book company in seattle next friday, i wish i could go. if only coast-to-coast travel wasn't so expensive/time-consuming.

amazing. a sort of goth/victorian/japanese/totem pole mash up. the hair and make-up alone - by peter phillips and guido palau - is brilliant. phillips told new york magazine, “We were inspired by clowns, divas and Pierrot, with a bit of Joan Crawford thrown in."
